Comment on tasks

Open a task, post a comment in its thread, and discuss the work with your team.

Every task has its own comment thread. Use it to leave notes, ask a teammate a question, or record what happened — all in one place on the task.

Open the task's comment thread

  1. Go to Tasks.
  2. Click the task card you want to discuss. Its Task details panel slides in from the right.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the panel — past the task fields and the Save changes / Delete buttons — to the Comments section.

Comments live on the Task details panel, not on the compact "Tasks" card you see on a customer, lead, or deal record. To comment, open the full task from the Tasks board.

Post a comment

  1. In the Comments section, type into the Add a comment… box.
  2. Click the paper-plane button next to the box.
  3. Your comment appears in the thread, tagged with your name and the date and time.

The comment box is a text area, so Enter adds a new line — it does not send. The paper-plane button stays disabled until there's text, so a stray Enter won't post anything early; click the button when you're ready to send.

A comment can be up to 5,000 characters. Empty (or whitespace-only) comments aren't allowed.

Read the thread

  • Comments are listed oldest to newest.
  • Each one shows a name badge (the author) and the time it was posted.
  • If the person who wrote a comment is no longer on your team, their comment stays in the thread and shows Someone instead of a name — nothing is lost.

Delete a comment

  1. Hover over the comment you want to remove.
  2. Click the small X that appears in its top-right corner.
  3. The comment disappears from the thread.

Any teammate can delete any comment — deletion isn't limited to the original author. The comment is removed from the thread for everyone, so delete carefully.

Who can comment

Any signed-in team member — Owner, Manager, Sales, or Accounting — can read, post, and delete comments on your dealership's tasks. Comments are private to your dealership and never appear on your storefront or any feed.

FAQ

Does commenting notify the assignee?

No. Posting a comment does not send a notification. A notification fires when a task is assigned (or re-assigned) to someone other than the person making the change — not when it's commented on. If you need a teammate to see your note, tell them directly or assign the task to them.

Can I edit a comment after posting?

No. There's no edit option. To fix a comment, delete it and post a new one.

Where did my comment go — I don't see it on the customer's page?

The comment thread only shows inside the Task details panel on the Tasks board. The compact tasks card on a customer, lead, or deal record lists the tasks themselves, not their comments. Open the task from the board to see and add comments.

Are deleted comments really gone?

They're removed from the thread and from view. Behind the scenes they're soft-deleted (kept for the audit trail) and the deletion is logged, but no one in the app can read a deleted comment again.

Can I comment on a task that's done or cancelled?

Yes. As long as you can open the task's details, you can post in its thread — even after it's completed or cancelled.
