Manage locations

Add, edit, set the primary, and delete your dealership's physical sites — the primary address shows on your storefront, and a location in a supported state unlocks that state's title paperwork.

Who: Owner or Admin / ManagerPlan: All plans (location count may be capped by your plan)

Locations are your dealership's physical sites. Your primary location's address and contact info show on your public website. You can also assign vehicles and staff to a specific location, and a location in a supported state makes that state available as an issuing state for your title and deal paperwork.

Any signed-in teammate can open this page and see the locations list (a salesperson may need to know where a vehicle lives). Only an Owner or an Admin / Manager can actually add, edit, set primary, or delete a location — those buttons are still visible to everyone, but the action is rejected with a "not permitted" error for Sales and Accounting users.

Add a location

  1. Go to Settings → Locations.
  2. Click Add location (top right).
  3. Fill in the fields:
    • Location name (required) — e.g. "Main lot" or "Service center".
    • Street address, City, State (2-letter code), ZIP.
    • Phone and Contact email (optional).
  4. Click Create location.

New locations are always added as non-primary. To switch your public site to its address, promote it from the list (see below).

Edit a location

  1. On the Locations list, find the location and click Edit.
  2. Change any field.
  3. Click Save changes.

Saving a location refreshes your public website automatically.

Set the primary location

The primary location is your dealership's public identity — its address and contact details appear on your storefront. It carries a green Primary badge.

  1. On the Locations list, find the location you want as primary.
  2. Click Set primary.

The current primary is demoted in the same step, so there is always exactly one primary. The Set primary button only appears on locations that aren't already primary.

Delete a location

  1. On the Locations list, find the location and click Delete.
  2. Confirm in the pop-up. This can't be undone.

Some locations can't be deleted:

  • The primary location — set another location as primary first, then delete this one.
  • A location with vehicles or staff assigned to it — reassign those vehicles and users to another location first. The error message tells you how many of each are still attached.

The Delete button only shows on non-primary locations, so you'll always promote a replacement before the old primary can be removed.

Unlock another state's title paperwork

The states you can issue titles and deal paperwork in are the platform's supported title states intersected with the states you actually have a location in. Adding a location in a supported state is how you turn that state's paperwork on.

  1. Add a location (above) with the State set to the state you want to sell/title in (e.g. GA).
  2. As long as that state is in the platform's supported title-state catalog, it becomes an available issuing state for your deals.

The default issuing state stamped on new deals follows this order: your saved deal default (if it's still available), then your primary location's state (if available), then the first available state. You can change the default under Settings → Deal defaults.

Adding a location in a state the platform doesn't support yet won't unlock paperwork there — only states in the supported title-state catalog are offered. If the state you need isn't appearing as an option, it isn't supported yet.

FAQ

Who can add or edit locations?

Owners and Admin / Managers. Sales and Accounting users can open the page and view the list, but the Add location, Edit, Set primary, and Delete actions are rejected for them with a "not permitted" error (the buttons themselves aren't hidden).

How many locations can I have?

It depends on your plan. A plan can set a location cap or leave it unlimited. If your plan has a cap and you've reached it, creating another location is blocked with a message naming your plan's included count and pointing you to upgrade under Settings → Billing.

Why can't I delete my main location?

You can't delete the primary location, because the public site needs an address. Promote a different location to primary first (Set primary), then delete the old one.

I get an error that vehicles or users are still assigned.

A location can't be deleted while vehicles or staff point to it. Reassign those vehicles to another location, and move any users assigned there, then try the delete again. The error message lists how many vehicles and users are still attached.

Will the public website update right away?

Yes. Creating, editing, setting primary, or deleting a location automatically refreshes your storefront.

Does each location have its own contact email?

Yes — each location can have its own phone and contact email, so a service center and a sales lot can route inquiries to different addresses. On the public site, the primary location's contact email is used; if it's blank, the site falls back to your website settings' contact email.
